Healthy Snacking

We all know that feeling: It's afternoon and you feel a tiny bit hungry. Not hungry enough to make yourself a big sandwich or something like that, but you feel like you could have a little snack. That's the point. I've read so often that snacking is bad for you, affects your weightloss blabla...
That's a myth. Having a little snack once in while is not bad at all! But you have to snack the right stuff! Unfortunately a whole pack of potato chips does not count as 'a right snack'...

Here are my Top 5 foods, which are a delicious, healthy snack and support you with important nutrients:

  1. Raspberries
These berries definitely deserve the first place when it comes to healthy snacks. They are very low in fat and calories, but high in fiber and antioxidants. I know, in winter it can be really difficult (and not very sustainable by the way) to get high-quality berries in general. I recommend buying frozen berries during the summer. In winter you only have to unfreeze them and they are ready to eat.
  2. Organic raw chocolate
I don't want to advertise a certain product or anything like that but this chocolate (picture) melts my heart! Especially the 'Goji/Orange' flavour tastes amazing! More information about the company and why I recommend raw chocolate: Here
  3. Almonds with grapes
In fact you can add any other fruit you like, but in my opinion almonds and grapes go very good together.
  4. Wholegrain toast with humus and cucumber
For those who prefer savory over sweet. Please make sure you use wholegrain toast and high-quality humus. For all my austrian readers, I recommend the 'Aladin' Humus produced by the company 'Hiel'.
  5. Yoghurt with banana, honey and cinnamon
If you want a vegan version of this you can use soy-yoghurt and any other sweetener you like. Cinnamon is very important, because it kind of completes this little dish.
